With the subways and buses that leave from Piazza dei Cinquecento in front of Termini Station only 400 meters from the hotel, you can conveniently reach all of Rome's most beautiful and famous monuments and museums.
Just a ten minute walk from the Hotel Mari 2 offers you a first taste of the splendors of ancient and modern Rome: overlooking Piazza della Repubblica are the imposing Baths of Diocletian (entrance in Via De Nicola). The largest in the ancient world, the baths were completed in 306 AD and could accommodate up to 3000 bathers. Today they house the National Museum of Rome with its priceless collection of Roman era sculptures and inscriptions. In the center of Piazza della Repubblica is the Fontana delle Naiadi, the most beautiful of Rome's 20th-century fountains. A large basin adorned with bronze statues surrounded by dramatic sprays of water, the fountain is enchantingly illuminated at night.
From Piazza della Repubblica begins the renowned Via Nazionale, the long street running into the heart of the city that is extolled by shopping lovers for its numerous stores of every type and its elegant boutiques.
The Hotel Mari 2 is also fifteen minutes on foot from the Quirinal Palace, the splendid residence of the President of the Italian Republic, as well as from the churches Sant'Andrea al Quirinale and San Carlo alle Quattro Fontane, masterpieces of the great Baroque architects Bernini and Borromini, respectively.
If you prefer public transportation, the 110 Open and the Archeobus are very convenient tourist buses that leave every two hours from Termini Station (400 meters from the Hotel Mari 2) for the historic heart of Rome and the archaeological sites of the city. These tourist lines give you a spectacular view of Piazza Navona, the Spanish Steps, the Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon, the Forums, the Colosseum, and all of Rome's most important monuments. If you like you can get off to visit squares and palaces. Otherwise, the regular buses, trams, and subways only a few steps from the Hotel Mari 2 are equally convenient for reaching Rome's historic center.
